plant profiles

the flowers listed below

include native plants, herbs, and cottage garden plants.  Most of them are hardy to zone 4 and have proven themselves adept at thriving with the erratic temperatures and rainfall that we find in our Rocky Mountain gardens.  A friend and I grew and sold starts of these plants and watched their progress in our gardens.  Now we are happy to see our local nursery offering many of these varieties to a much wider public.

When you click on the links below you will find photos, cultivation requirements, and other interesting information which will help you be successful growing these flowers.  Including native plants in your garden encourages beneficial insects to survive and thrive....and growing hardy varieties ensures a beautiful garden year after year.

"There can be no other occupation like gardening in which,

if you were to creep up behind someone at their work,

you would find them smiling."
